Environmental Education

The Ecology Center's environmental education programs encourage New Yorkers of all ages to explore their built and natural environment through hands-on experience. Programs focus on local issues including water, climate change, waste, green space and environmental leadership.

The Ecology Center's education programs are free to the public and invite participants to experience and take responsibility for their community and its natural resources. Education programs are developed for specific needs of participants, while emphasizing the exploration of local resources. Education opportunities are offered through in-school and after-school programs, community groups, public workshops and lectures, teacher trainings, green job trainings, internships and private workshops. A list of public workshops can be found on our calendar and descriptions of our environmental education offerings can be found in the menu to the left.
