DESCRIPTION:Come fish with us to learn more about our local waterway – the East River! All are welcome\, whether it’s your first time fishing or you’re a professional angler. Instruction\, bait\, and tackle will be provided. This will be catch and release fishing only. Participants under 16 years old must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. \nFemme fishing is fishing for everyone. Designed for femme\, nonbinary\, and allied cis friends\, these events are led by femme environmental educators. We foster inclusive\, supportive spaces where both new and experienced anglers can build community\, explore our waterways\, and develop new skills. Hell’s Kitchen Commons accepts food scraps at Mathews Palmer Park (45th between 9th/10th Ave) during the park’s open hours. \nThis is a community-managed compost drop-off site. Participants are asked to ensure the area remains clean and the bin lids remain closed after food scraps are dropped off. Participants must follow the guidelines for what to contribute. You are also invited to join the Hell’s Kitchen Commons volunteer team. Email hellskitchencommons@gmail.com to be added to their volunteer What’s App group. \nPlease note: Food waste from households only. NO businesses or other commercial generators may drop off.
