DESCRIPTION:Prospect Park is home to many bird species during the spring months; spend some time observing them on this guided walk. \nJoin us and Elijah Shiffer for a guided walk at Prospect Park\, taking some time to observe the birds found there during spring. \nThe peak of spring migration may still be a month away\, but early April is already an exciting time for birding in Prospect Park. Several early migrants are passing through that will have moved on by May. We’ll be on the lookout for Eastern Phoebes\, Blue-gray Gnatcatchers\, Louisiana Waterthrushes\, and the earliest of the warblers such as Pine and Palm. The lake may be where we find the most new arrivals including Ospreys\, herons\, egrets and swallows. DESCRIPTION:Thank you for participating in the Hell’s Kitchen Commons Food Scrap Drop-Off. Hell’s Kitchen Commons accepts food scraps at Mathews Palmer Park (45th between 9th/10th Ave) during the park’s open hours. \nThis is a community-managed compost drop-off site. Participants are asked to ensure the area remains clean and the bin lids remain closed after food scraps are dropped off. Participants must follow the guidelines for what to contribute. You are also invited to join the Hell’s Kitchen Commons volunteer team. Email hellskitchencommons@gmail.com to be added to their volunteer What’s App group. \nPlease note: Food waste from households only. NO businesses or other commercial generators may drop off.
