Street Tree Care

Street trees provide us with shade and cooler temperatures. Help us return the love by giving the care needed for our trees to thrive. We will weed, mulch, water, and apply NYC-made compost to street tree beds in the Lower East Side.

Leaf Litter Eco-Print Workshop

Did you know trees produce beautiful hues and prints that can be used for natural dyeing? In this hands-on workshop led by the LES Ecology Center, you’ll learn how leaves, seeds, and bark from NYC street trees can be a fun and accessible resource for dyeing fabrics.

Food Preservation Workshop

In this workshop, we will explore traditional and modern strategies for preserving food with an emphasis on reducing waste or using edible materials that might not otherwise be consumed. We will demonstrate 3 methods including quick pickling, fermentation, and candying.

Earth Flow | Yoga for Environmentalists
