Come fish with us to learn more about our local waterway – the East River! All are welcome, whether it’s your first time fishing or you’re a professional angler. Instruction, bait, and tackle will be provided. This will be catch and release fishing only. Participants under 16 years old must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Femme fishing is fishing for everyone. Designed for femme, nonbinary, and allied cis friends, these events are led by femme environmental educators. We foster inclusive, supportive spaces where both new and experienced anglers can build community, explore our waterways, and develop new skills. Femme fishing events are a collaboration between the Lower East Side Ecology Center, Marieke Bender of Battery Park City Authority, and our community partners.
