There are millions of trees and over 200 species in New York City. Join us to learn how these different species are able to thrive in a harsh urban environment. During this walk we will learn how to recognize different trees by their leaves as well as their bark. We will also visit trees that are locally evolved to this land and trees that have been introduced at different points in history.
Please bring any questions you may have about urban ecosystems and wear comfortable walking shoes. We will walk at a leisurely pace and cover about a mile of city streets.
Meet at the flagpole outside the public restroom building in Seward Park.
