Join the office of Council Member Carl Wilson and the LES Ecology Center and to care for our urban forest canopy in Midtown West!
Trees clean our air, cool our streets, mitigate flooding, and much more!
Help us take care of the trees by aerating soil, weeding, removing litter, and applying NYC-made compost and mulch. We will learn about the Urban Forest of NYC, including different types of trees found in the neighborhood, how to care for the soil, and what types of plants you may see growing in tree beds. All materials provided.
Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and long-sleeves, and pants are recommended. Please wear clothes you are comfortable getting dirty in. Anyone wearing flip-flops will not be able to participate. Hats are highly suggested on sunny days. Don’t forget to bring your reusable water bottle!
